Aloe Vera Gel and Oil: Well-known to anyone who’s ever burned his/her hand in the kitchen or gotten too much sun at the beach, soothing aloe vera is one of the staples of the botanical pantry. Aloe vera gel is soothing and healing for burns and other skin irritations.
Apricot Kernel Oil: This very light oil has properties very similar to those of sweet almond oil, and is considered a perfect facial and massage oil.
Avocado Oil: Rich in saturated and momounsaturated fats, Avocado Oil contains beta-carotene and natural vitamins A, B1 B2, and vitamin D, lecithin. Beneficial to dry and dehydrated skin, avocado oil is especially nourishing in soaps and beauty serums.
Borage Seed Oil: A rich source of gamma linolenic acid, vitamins and minerals, and is said to be helpful in regenerating and stimulating the skin. Borage oil can be beneficial to all skin types, but is a high-end oil used often in anti-aging skin preparations. It is useful in reducing the aging process of the skin and reverses damage from ultraviolet rays.
Carrot Seed Oil: This oil is a very rich source of beta-carotene, as well as vitamins B, C, D, and E. Carrot Seed oil is also a natural preservative.
Castor Oil: Derived from the castor bean, castor oil is a wonderful additive to handmade soaps and shampoos. Castor oil is rich in ricinoleic acid. Castor oil is a humectant, which means that it attracts moisture to the skin. Castor oil offers a silky lather in soaps as well as moisturizing and emollient qualities.
Coconut Oil: Coconut Oil imparts a long-lasting, large bubble quality to soap lather. Coconut Oil is produced from the copra, or dried coconut meat, and is solid at 76 degrees.
Evening Primrose Oil: Similar to Borage seed oil, as it contains gamma linolenic acid. Evening primrose oil is soothing for eczema and psoriasis conditions and is said to help prevent premature aging.
Jojoba oil: Actually a liquid wax, golden jojoba oil mimics human sebum, so it exhibits excellent protective qualities for the skin. Jojoba oil is a natural antioxidant and can protect less stable oils in a blend.
Meadowfoam Oil: One of nature’s richest emollients, meadowfoam oil is nourishing to the skin and supports healing of dry, chapped lips. Native to the Pacific Northwest, meadowfoam was named for it’s tiny flowers that cover the ground.
Rosehips Seed Oil: this oil is highly-prized for its regenerating properties. Rosehips seed oil possesses a high content of essential fatty acids (gamma linoleic acid) that is said to nourish and regenerate maturing skin.
Sweet Almond Oil: It is rich in essential fatty acids and vitamins A, B1, B2, B6 and E, and is soothing to dry, inflamed skin, can ease itching and inflammation. Sweet almond oil supports healing of eczema and many other skin conditions. It is rich in minerals and beneficial to all skin types.
